Anime Central

Welcome to My Portfolio

Anime Central started as a website based around something I already enjoy, which is anime. Instead of making a website about a random topic just for class, I wanted to build something that actually feels like something I would make on my own. The site gives me a place to talk about different anime, characters, recommendations, and other things I like while also showing the web development skills I am learning in CIS 515.

This website is also becoming my portfolio for the course. As I complete more assignments, I can use it to show how my skills have changed throughout the semester. I started with basic HTML, including headings, paragraphs, links, tables, and multiple pages. After that, I began working with CSS so I could control colors, spacing, fonts, navigation, and the overall layout instead of leaving everything with the default browser appearance.

Now I am learning how Bootstrap can work together with HTML and CSS. Bootstrap makes it easier to create layouts that work on different screen sizes without having to manually write every responsive rule myself. For this version of the website, I am using Bootstrap for the navigation bar, responsive containers, buttons, and form styling. The navigation can also collapse on smaller screens, which makes the site easier to use on a phone instead of trying to squeeze all of the links across one line.

As I continue through this course, I plan to keep improving this website instead of treating every assignment like a completely separate project. I want the final version to show the progression from a basic HTML website into something that looks and functions more like a modern website. Anime Central lets me combine something I already like with the programming and web development skills I am learning, which makes the project more interesting to work on. By the end of the class, this site should show my progress with HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, and the other full-stack concepts we cover.
